Glass railing uses glass as panel material, with metal, wood, etc.Glass railing has its own merits, i.e.,elegant appearance, steadiness ,wind resistance.etc.It is modern guardrail products with good decoration, which can be used in resident, villa, mall, pool,etc.

      Now, Demose editor will explicates two main points about glass railing installation.

      A.Installation About Glass

     Glass railing should be used tempered glass or laminated glass. The thickness of tempered glass should not be less than 12mm. The glass should not be directly close to stiff accessories. There must be some elastic material as gasket. When using the flush-bonding glass with two sides, the glass should be embedded into the channel with above 3mm space in both sides. And the space should be filled with glass sealant. The height of embedded glass should be more than 12mm.

      B. Installation of Bases and Balusters

     When using glass as guardrail,it is better to leave space of 8mm or so between two pieces of glass. Also we should leave space of 8mm or so between glass and other material parts, and the space should be filled with sealant. The base of the glass is the key part to hold the guardrail strong. Usually it need install fastener to fix the glass, which is made of angle iron. In both sides of the fastener,there are expansion bolts or welding between the floor and the embedded parts to keep it not loosing.

     Between the glass and the channel base there must be a gasket as an underlayer,whose hardness should be 80-90. The height of the embedded glass should be more than 100mm. There must be 3-6mm or so space to leave between the glass and the stiff parts, such as angle iron and steel plate. The space should be filled with neoprene rubber gasket to hold the glass tight.There must be 6mm or so space between the steel and glass. Also we should leave space of 6mm or so between glass and other material parts, and the space also should be filled with sealant.

      After installation, please do check the glass is safe and not loosing. Then cover the decorative cover on the base. Please note that the cover can not directly get in touch with the glass and the space between them should also be filled with sealant.
